The Graduate School

The Geneva Graduate School of Governance (GGSG) is a legally separate sister organization of the Geneva Foundation for Governance and Public Policy, an independent, non-profit entity established under Swiss law to support post-graduate higher education, research, consultancy, public forum and publishing activities.

GGSG’s offerings include a choice of both resident and online graduate degree programmes – Ph.Ds, two-year masters, one-year certificates, short training periods – with a broad focus on governance, security, development, leadership, management, societal trends, and international cooperation.

GGSG also functions as a research, debate and consulting centre on those public policy fields as well as on change management, educational engineering, institutional development, and sectoral reform.

Its ambition is to acquire elite academic status in substantive areas of concentration of major international policy relevance that are seldom found together in university syllabuses. The education offered, geared to international careers in both the public and private sectors, will give pride of place to leadership development, communication skills, practice and action to promote prompt sizing up of situations and sound decision-making, in ‘normal’ circumstances as well as in time of crisis. Integrated policy exercises figure prominently in the curriculum.

GGSG’s activities are premised on a philosophy of bona fide intellectual dialogue, liberal-democratic values, as well as civic and international engagement.
